Modelling & CAD

We will make 3D models using cheap materials such as card and styrofoam, you should take photos of these and include them here with annotation.

You can also use CAD to develop your designs.  This method of development has many advantages, you can very quickly develop features and apply textures and colours with the click of a button, and should things no work out the way you expected, you can simply click undo.

In school we use Google SketchUp to support our product development. This is a free software that you can download and use at home to develop your skills and products.

When developing products using CAD, you will create a range of developments very quickly; it is important that you screenshot developments and paste them into your PowerPoint assessment to evidence what you have done. You can then annotate them later to show what worked and what did not work with the designs.
