Evaluation

In your evaluation, it is important that you evaluate against your design criteria that you outlined at the end of your research section.

It is in your evaluation that you can justify why you were not able to do certain things that you wanted to do with your design. This is where you can explain the reasons behind why your design looks and functions the way it does. Sometimes for reasons beyond your control, you are not able to do certain things that you would like with your design, or through testing you identified that things would not work, so you had to change them - it is here that you explore that.

In your evaluation, it is important that you get the opinion of others on your design. There are key questions you should ask a third party to gain their opinion.

Is your product clearly influenced and inspired by the design movement/culture that you set out to?
Do you think the materials used in the product are suitable for its purpose and function?
Do you think the product functions the way it should?
Would you purchase this product?
How much would you pay for a product like this?
Do you think this product would appeal to the target market?
What do you think works well with this product?

What changes would you make to improve this product?

To achieve the higher grades, make sure you explain your answers fully, say why you think what you do. Your opinion is not wrong, just make sure that you explain it your reasons for having it.
